Persian Cat Breed Brief

The Persian cat's body is mid size to large, of the "cobby" type, low on the legs, broad and deep thru the chest, similarly great across the shoulders and rump, and with a sweet "pansy" face. In contrast to its "fluffy" appearance, the Persian has good muscle tone with no proof of body weight issues. Its coat is long and thick, of fine texture, glossy and energetic. A multitude of colours and patterns is permissable. In CFA Standards, the Persian coat

colours are split into color divisions :
* Solid Color Division
* Silver & Golden Division
* Shaded & Smoke Division
* Tabby Division
* Parti-Color Division
* Calico & Bi-Color Division
* Himalayan Division

Of certain note is the Himalayan Division, which CFA considers as yet another colour of the Persian breed. In TICA, the Himalayan is considered another breed, but is included in the Persian Breed Group, which also can include Exotic Shorthair pussies. The AACE judges the Himalayan under its own separate breed standard.

History of the Persian Kitty
The origins of the Persian are as diversified as the amount of folk describing them, nevertheless it is reasonably well accepted that some early Persian moggies came from Persia ( now known as Iran ), and Turkey, and were introduced to Britain by early Western european travelers, and in the time of the Crusades. Some historians accept that the Persian might have mated with Angoras in Italy in the 16th Century. Everybody accepts that the Persian was high on the list of esteemed "possessions" by royalty, from the king of Persia to the kings and queens of Britain .

In the latter 19th century, North America discovered the Persian pussy, and it shortly reached the zenith of being the most well liked moggy in the US, a distinction it holds today. With its fantastic long-flowing coat and sweet face to match its disposition, it's not surprising the Persian is the favourite pussy among all pedigreed breeds. Persians need a safe, serene environment, but after they feel safe, they'll be a continued source of pleasure to the fortunate household that is the property of a Persian. The Persian needs regular upkeep to keep the wonderful thing about that coat, so consider punctiliously before making what should be a whole life dedication to this wonderful moggy.
