History :
Golden Retrievers originated from the Scottish Highlands, where they were used essentially as hunting dogs. The breed was developed across the 19th century in Scotland and ultimately gained acclaim in Britain . In the early 20th century, Goldens were introduced to Northern America.
The breed continued to gain acceptance worldwide as both hunting dog and companion.
